Privacy Promise for Consumers
Your privacy is important to AccountUSA. While information is the
cornerstone of our ability to provide superior service, our most
important asset is our customers' trust. Keeping customer information
secure, and using it only as our customers would want us to, is
a top priority for all of us at AccountUSA. Here is our promise
to our individual customers:
1. We will safeguard,
according to strict standards of security and confidentiality, any
information our customers share with us.
2. We will limit the collection and use of customer information
to the minimum we require to deliver superior service to our customers,
which includes advising our customers about our products, services
and other opportunities, and to administer our business.
3. We will permit only authorized employees, who are trained in
the proper handling of customer information, to have access to that
information. Employees who violate our Privacy Promise will be subject
to our normal disciplinary process.
4. We will not reveal customer information to any external organization
unless we have previously informed the customer in disclosures or
agreements, have been authorized by the customer, or are required
by law.
5. We will always maintain control over the confidentiality of our
customer information. We may, however, facilitate relevant offers
from reputable companies. These companies are not permitted to retain
any customer information unless the customer has specifically expressed
interest in their products or services.
6. We will tell customers in plain language initially how they may
remove their names from marketing lists. At any time, customers
can contact us to remove their names from such lists.
7. Whenever we hire other organizations to provide support services,
we will require them to conform to our privacy standards and to
allow us to audit them for compliance.
8. For purposes of credit reporting, verification and risk management,
we may exchange information about our customers with reputable reference
sources and clearinghouse services.
9 . We will attempt to keep customer files complete, up-to-date,
and accurate. We will tell our customers how and where to conveniently
access their account information (except when we're prohibited by
law) and how to notify us about errors which we will promptly correct.
We will continuously assess ourselves to ensure that customer privacy
is respected and our integrity is maintained. We will conduct our
business in a manner that fulfills our Promise everywhere we do
business.
Tips
to Protect Your Information
AccountUSA works hard to keep your information secure.
You can help by following these tips to protect your information:
* Store personal
information in a safe place and tear up or shred old receipts and
account statements before throwing them away.
* Protect your PIN and other passwords. Do not share them with anyone
unless it's for a service or transaction you request and you are
confident the other party will protect the information as you would.
* Carry only the minimum amount of identifying information you require.
* Pay attention to your statements. Inquire if you do not receive
a statement.
* Check account statements carefully to ensure all charges, checks,
or withdrawals are authorized.
* Guard your mail from theft. Promptly remove incoming mail.

Internet Privacy Policy
Welcome to the
AccountUSA Website. This section explains our policy regarding any
personal information you might supply to us when you visit this
site. Our goal is to protect your information on the Internet in
the same way that we protect it in all the other ways we interact
with you: at ATMs and on the phone.
1. You can visit
this site and find out about our products and services, check on
career opportunities, or use other value-added services without
giving us any information about yourself.
2. If you do provide personal information, refer to the "AccountUSA
Privacy Promise for Consumers" above.
Cookies
In order to provide better service or to address security
hazards, we will occasionally use a “cookie." A cookie
is a small piece of information which our website stores on your
Web browser on your PC and can later retrieve. The cookie cannot
be read by a website other than the one that set the cookie. We
use cookies for a number of administrative purposes. For example,
to store your preferences for certain kinds of information or to
store a password so that you do not have to input it every time
you visit our site, as well as to maintain security and to improve
our website for you. Most cookies last only through a single session,
or visit to our site. None will contain information that will enable
anyone to contact you via telephone, e-mail, or any other means.
You can set up your Web browser to inform you when cookies are set
or to prevent cookies from being set. You may also choose not to

E-mail
Addresses
If you supply us with your e-mail address, we may let you
know by e-mail about special marketing offers for products and services
that may be of interest to you. This may include, but is not limited
to, online services, deposit products, travel offers, and business
cards. When we collect your e-mail address, and with each special
marketing offer e-mail message we send, we will provide you with
the opportunity to tell us that you do not wish to receive special
marketing offer messages from us in the future. However, AccountUSA
reserves the right to service your account and communicate with
you through e-mail about your account. This may include, but is
not limited to, activating your accounts, providing you with confirmations,
bill reminders, updates to any services or policies, adding an authorized
user, and the online banking service.
Internet
Security
AccountUSA uses encryption technology to protect certain
information sent over the Internet. SSL is an encryption technology
known as “Secure Sockets Layer”. SSL encrypts transmissions
between two parties and verifies the website server you are communicating
with. An “s” after the “http” in a website’s
address indicates that you are attached to a secure server using
SSL technology. Additionally, if your browser is Microsoft Internet
Explorer 3.0, Netscape Navigator 4.0, or a higher version of either,
a picture of a lock or a key should appear in the lower right hand
corner of the browser’s window. |
